The Ségou is constructed from traditional indigo-dyed Malian fabric, where concentric resist patterns unfold across a deep field of blue. Indigo dyeing across West Africa has long been associated with craftsmanship, patience, and layered technique—cloth submerged repeatedly until the color reaches its unmistakable depth.
The spiraling geometry that appears across the surface is not printed but revealed through resist methods that leave parts of the cloth untouched by dye. The result is a pattern that feels both mathematical and natural, echoing cycles found in water, wind, and time.
BOBBYJOSEPH approaches fabric as narrative. When a textile carries this much character, the role of design becomes restraint—shaping the material into a silhouette that honors the story already embedded in the cloth.
Each cap is produced in small quantities, with the placement of the indigo pattern shifting subtly from piece to piece.
A rare expression of indigo craft translated through the BOBBYJOSEPH lens.
